Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade, it may increase an item's Rarity or Mark Level and boost additional stats.

Item Level

Item Failure
Upgrades to items are costly and not all upgrades will be successful. Cash shop items can be used to boost the success rate of an upgrade, or to protect players from losing their item in the event that it does not work.
The rate of success of an upgrade is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of successfully upgrading that item and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The success of an item can be affected by the luck of the item. Each item has an overall success rate of 25 percent, and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by five percent.
